Switch on Explore for 1, 2 or 4 hours — perfect for viewing days or walking a street you love. Your phone alerts you when you're within 50 metres of a home that matches your search, even when it's locked in your pocket.

Passive mode watches quietly in the background the rest of the time. It checks less often when you're not moving, so it's light on battery. Passive alerts can arrive a little later than Explore — for viewings, use Explore.

Passive mode adapts to how you're moving and goes easy on your battery. Explore uses GPS more closely, which is why it runs for a set time (1, 2 or 4 hours) and then switches itself off.

Check these settings on your phone:

• Location for CopperFlash is set to Always.
• Notifications are allowed, including on the Lock Screen.
• Time Sensitive notifications are on (iPhone).
• A Focus mode isn't silencing CopperFlash.
• Your ringer and vibration (haptics) are on.

Each home alerts you once every 30 minutes at most, so you won't be pinged repeatedly on the same street.

Flash Alerts for new listings work from your CopperFlash account. Nearby alerts — the tap on the shoulder when you pass a match — need the app, because they use your phone's location.

Yes. A free listing includes up to 10 photos, standard exposure and standard support.

An optional upgrade at £29.95 a month until cancelled: up to 20 photos, a video or virtual tour link, and more exposure. One Premium subscription covers both selling and letting.

No. CopperFlash never takes a percentage of your sale or rent.

Three ways: your CRM sends files to our secure FTP; we collect your feed from your FTP, SFTP or web address every hour, 4 hours, 12 hours or daily; or you upload a file yourself.

Yes. Each update adds new properties, refreshes changes and removes homes that have left your feed. If a file suddenly arrives with far fewer properties than usual, we pause removals and check with you first.
